Atlanta, GA – The Sandy Creek Patriots left no doubt on the biggest stage, capping off a perfect, undefeated season with a convincing 27–7 victory over the Jefferson Dragons to claim the Class 3A state championship. Even before kickoff, the tone was set. During pregame warmups, the Patriots carried themselves with a sharp focus and quiet confidence. Every movement, every rep, sent a clear message, Sandy Creek came to finish the job and bring home the 3A state title.

The Patriots struck first in the second quarter when running back Amari Latimer powered his way into the end zone on a 16-yard rushing touchdown, giving Sandy Creek a 7–0 lead. The momentum continued to build moments later as quarterback Caleb Hill showcased his dual-threat ability, breaking free for a 22-yard rushing touchdown to extend the lead to 14–0.

Jefferson responded later in the second quarter with a spark of their own. Chance Payne broke loose for an electrifying 85-yard rushing touchdown, cutting the deficit to 14–7 and giving the Dragons life heading into halftime. However, any hopes of a comeback were quickly answered after the break. In the third quarter, Sandy Creek began to take full control of the game. Hill capped off another efficient drive with a 4-yard rushing touchdown, pushing the Patriots’ advantage to 21–7 and shifting the momentum firmly back in Sandy Creek’s favor.

The Patriots sealed the championship in the fourth quarter when Latimer delivered the finishing blow, scoring his second touchdown of the night on a 25-yard rushing run to put the game out of reach. Sandy Creek’s balanced offensive attack proved too much for Jefferson to handle. Hill rushed for 68 yards while throwing for 167 yards and completing an impressive 73.7 percent of his passes. Latimer was equally effective, totaling 96 rushing yards and two touchdowns, consistently punishing the Dragons’ defense.

Just as impressive was the Patriots defensive performance. Sandy Creek’s defense smothered Jefferson throughout the night, limiting the Dragons to a completion percentage of just 15.8 percent and preventing any sustained offensive rhythm.

When the final whistle sounded, it marked more than just a championship win, it was the culmination of a flawless season built on discipline, balance, and belief. Sandy Creek didn’t just win the Class 3A state title; they proved they were the most complete team in the classification, finishing their historic run undefeated and on top of Georgia high school football.
