Stockbridge Middle’s Chemistry and Talent Fuel Undefeated Start

Stockbridge, Georgia – Building chemistry on a team full of talented athletes can be difficult at any level of football. Egos can take over. Players can become frustrated when they aren’t getting the ball enough, while others may lose interest when their playing time isn’t what they expected. That doesn’t appear to be a problem for the 2026 Stockbridge Middle School Tigers.

Stockbridge is off to an impressive 3-0 start, and with the talent, experience, and chemistry throughout the roster, there is growing belief that this team has what it takes to make a championship run. What separates this group from many other middle school teams is simple: they’ve been here before, together. Several members of this Stockbridge team have played alongside one another for years at the youth level, winning multiple national championships along the way. That familiarity has created a level of chemistry that is showing up on the field.

Edwards Leads the Offense

Leading the Tigers at quarterback is Avery Edwards, who has thrown multiple touchdown passes in every game he has played this season. Edwards brings plenty of experience to the position after a successful youth football career that includes multiple national championships. His experience, leadership, and ability to distribute the football have helped Stockbridge take advantage of its collection of offensive weapons.

Behind Edwards is running back Simon King Jr , who has provided balance to the Tigers’ offense. King has done an excellent job of reading his blocks, finding running lanes, and giving Stockbridge a reliable option on the ground.

Then there is Deagan Parker, one of the most dynamic eighth-grade athletes in Georgia. Parker has caught multiple touchdown passes in every game and has been a matchup problem at wide receiver, particularly when lined up outside the numbers. His ability to stretch the field gives Edwards a dangerous target and forces opposing defenses to account for him on every play.

Kye Williams has also played a major role for the Tigers. Working at the outside wide receiver while contributing in the secondary at defensive back, Williams versatility gives Stockbridge another playmaker capable of impacting the game on both sides of the football.

Defense Making Its Presence Felt

The talent isn’t limited to the offensive side of the ball. Defensive end Bryce Golden has made his presence felt up front, while defensive back Keylann Taylor has helped strengthen a talented Stockbridge secondary. Together, the Tigers have shown they have playmakers at all three levels and enough athleticism to create problems for opposing offenses.

But perhaps the biggest strength of this Stockbridge team isn’t any individual player. It’s the chemistry. Many of these players have already experienced winning together. They understand their roles, trust one another, and know that individual success comes easier when the team is successful. For a roster loaded with talented athletes, that mentality could be what ultimately separates Stockbridge from the competition. The Tigers are 3-0, expectations are rising, and the possibility of making a championship run is becoming more realistic with every victory.

Stockbridge will look to keep its undefeated start going when they play Eagle’s Landing Middle School at home on Tuesday, September 15.
