Atlanta, Georgia – The Morrow Mustangs will enter the 2026 football season with a new leader, a new vision, and a renewed hope for a program searching for a turnaround. The task ahead is clear: rebuild a Morrow football program that has been hungry for consistent success and establish a culture built on discipline, development, and winning.
That responsibility now falls on the shoulders of Head Coach Jarrett Laws, a coach who is no stranger to the challenges and opportunities that come with leading a program in Clayton County. Laws returns to the Southside of Atlanta with a proven track record of building programs and developing young athletes into successful competitors.
For Laws, Clayton County is more than just another coaching stop, it is where he made his biggest mark as a head coach. In 2009, Laws guided the Mount Zion Bulldogs to one of the most memorable seasons in program history, leading the team on a deep run through the GHSA playoffs. Mount Zion advanced all the way to the Elite Eight before falling in a heartbreaking one-point loss to Marist. That season helped put Laws on the map as one of the respected coaches in the area.
His impact continued when he became the founding head coach of Charles Drew High School. Building a program from the ground up, Laws helped establish a strong foundation and led the Titans to national recognition, including a top-five ranking on MaxPreps during his tenure. After successful stops at Salem High School , Laws now finds himself back home in Clayton County with a new challenge in front of him, bringing life back to Morrow football.
The Mustangs program has been searching for stability and success, and Laws believes the foundation starts with changing the culture. His approach centers around leadership, accountability, and getting players to believe in the process. Revitalizing a program is never an overnight process. It requires buy-in from players, coaches, families, and the community. But Laws has been in this position before. He understands what it takes to build something special and believes the same formula that worked at previous stops can help Morrow rise again.
