Luella’s Raelon Ray Commits to Livingstone College

Atlanta, GA – Luella High School defensive tackle Raelon Ray has officially announced his commitment to Livingstone College, adding another talented piece to the Blue Bears’ future defensive front. Known for his physicality in the trenches and relentless motor on the field, Ray brings both size and discipline to a Livingstone program that continues to build momentum on the recruiting trail. For Ray, the decision came down to more than just football. He was drawn to Livingstone’s environment, the culture within the program, and the opportunities the institution offers on and off the field.

Ralelon. What made you choose the school you committed to over the others?
I chose Livingstone College because of the environment & possibilities that awaits at the institution.

What factors were most important to you when making your decisions?
The team’s culture, school environment and coaching staff were all factors into my decision to where I wanted to play college football.

How did the team’s culture and values influence your commitment decisions?
Livingstone College plays hard, and they value their athletes becoming a man.

What about the coaching staff stood out to you the most?
What stood out the most was how dedicated they are to making great football players.

How do you feel you will fit into the team both athletically and academically?
I believe I will be a great fit in both the classroom and football. I’ll be accepted into the family.

What are your goals for your first year in college, both on and off the field?
I plan to maintain a 4.0 GPA as a freshman and throughout my college career. I am also striving to be an All-American.

What was the recruiting process like for you, and what was a highlight during that time?
This was definitely a great process, I felt wanted in the program.

Who or what helped you most in making your decision to commit?
What helped me the most was praying and asking God for directions.

How does it feel to officially commit, and what are you most excited about?
I feel accomplished, but there’s work to be done.

What advice would you give a younger athlete who’s hoping to commit to a college program someday?
I would say trust God and take your time.
