North Clayton Eagles Get Revenge In Blowout Win Over Charles Drew

College Park, Georgia – North Clayton High School hadn’t had much success against Charles Drew in recent years, dropping their last four matchups in the series. But on Friday night, the Eagles flipped the script in dominant fashion, rolling to a 40-6 victory and securing some long-awaited payback after last season’s 33-27 loss to the Titans. From the opening whistle, North Clayton’s offense couldn’t be contained. The Eagles piled up 40 points, nearly matching their entire offensive output from the last four meetings combined, when they scored just 45 total points against Drew. Quarterback Justin Murphy once again proved to be the difference maker. Murphy has been on fire to start the season, accounting for six total touchdowns through the first two games. His playmaking ability set the tone early and kept the Titans’ defense on its heels all night.

The defense also played a major role in the victory, limiting Drew to a single score and creating multiple stops that allowed North Clayton’s offense to extend the lead. With the win, North Clayton improves to 2-0 and continues to build early season momentum. The Eagles will now look ahead to a test against West Laurens this Friday. For Charles Drew, the struggles continued. The Titans have now dropped five straight games dating back to last season and sit at 0-2 on the year. They’ll return home this week in search of their first victory when they host South Cobb.
