Atlanta, GA – One of metro Atlanta’s premier 7v7 football organizations closed out its tournament season in impressive fashion this past Saturday at Denmark High School in Alpharetta, Georgia. Next Gen Academy once again proved why it’s one of the most respected programs in the area, delivering a strong showing across multiple age groups and reinforcing its reputation for excellence on and off the field.
Coming off a dominant previous tournament where its 9U, 13U, and 15U teams each delivered championship titles, Next Gen continued to build momentum. That level of success reflects a program built on consistency, preparation, and a clear vision for athlete development. From the youngest divisions to the older, more competitive groups, Next Gen athletes consistently demonstrate discipline, skill, and a high football IQ.

Founded by Micah Keels, a former player and current defensive backs coach at Denmark High School, Next Gen Academy operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to developing student-athletes both athletically and academically. The program goes far beyond the field, providing guidance on NCAA eligibility requirements and organizing college tours to expose athletes to opportunities at the next level. This holistic approach ensures that players are not only improving their game but also preparing for their futures.
What truly separates Next Gen Academy from many other programs is its commitment to quality and structure. Every coach within the organization is a certified middle school or high school coach, a standard that speaks volumes about the level of instruction athletes receive. This isn’t just about winning games, it’s about teaching the game the right way and instilling habits that translate beyond football.
In addition to physical development, Next Gen emphasizes the mental side of sports. Through its partnership with DeMario “Coach Rio” Dixon of Beyond Performance Academy, athletes receive mindset training designed to strengthen focus, confidence, and resilience. That added layer of mental conditioning helps players perform under pressure and develop tools that extend into everyday life.
As the 7v7 season comes to a close, Next Gen Academy continues to set the standard for what a complete youth football program should look like. With a strong foundation in player development, a commitment to education, and active community involvement, the organization is not just building better athletes—it’s shaping future leaders.
