North Clayton Set for Tough Test Against Westlake After Statement Win Over Riverdale

College Park, GA- North Clayton returns to action tonight with momentum on its side as the Eagles prepare to take on Westlake High School, a traditionally strong program entering the matchup with a 5–3 record. The showdown comes less than 48 hours after North Clayton’s impressive rivalry victory on Thursday, where the Eagles dominated Riverdale 65–41.

Thursday’s win showcased a balanced, disciplined, and confident North Clayton squad—one that is starting to settle into its identity early in the season.

North Clayton came out firing against Riverdale, controlling the tempo from start to finish. The Eagles’ offense clicked in all phases, while their defensive pressure forced turnovers and halted any Raider momentum.

Junior standout Jaquavious Cox continued his consistent early-season surge, scoring efficiently on his way to maintaining a strong 14 points-per-game average. Cox’s aggressive mindset and ability to create plays in transition have been critical to the Eagles’ offensive rhythm.

Senior center Modu Fall also remained reliable in the paint, contributing to his season average of 12 points per game while anchoring the defense with strong rebounding and interior presence. But it wasn’t just the scorers who shined. The Eagles’ guard play was arguably the biggest difference-maker.

North Clayton’s Dallas Fisher

Guards Dallas Fisher and Cadence Burch set the tone early against Riverdale with poised decision-making and relentless effort. Whether it was pushing the ball in transition, facilitating the offense, or knocking down open shots when needed, the backcourt duo dictated the pace and made sure every Eagle was involved. Their leadership and ability to execute under pressure are signs that North Clayton is maturing quickly as a unit.

North Clayton now turns its attention to Westlake, a respected program known for its physical play and strong athleticism. With the Lions entering at 5-3, they’ll present one of the Eagles’ toughest challenges to date. If the Eagles bring the same energy and execution they displayed Thursday, they’ll have a legitimate shot at knocking off a quality opponent and improving their own early-season resume.

With confidence high and chemistry growing, North Clayton looks to build off its rivalry-game success. Tonight’s matchup is a chance for the Eagles to prove they can compete with one of the stronger teams in the region, and to show that their early-season consistency is no fluke.
