Wilson High School’s Rising Freshmen Amari Green is Crafting His Game on the Road to WR Stardom

Florence, South Carolina – As a rising 9th grader stepping into the high school football spotlight, Amari Green is determined to make his mark as a wide receiver. With a clear focus on improving key skills and a strong commitment to his team, Amari is preparing for what he hopes will be a breakthrough season filled with big plays and meaningful contributions. One of Amari’s top priorities as a wide receiver this offseason has been refining his release. Improving this aspect of his game is essential for creating space and becoming a more reliable target for his quarterback. Amari’s ambitions go beyond personal growth; he wants to help lead his team to a state championship. This goal fuels his daily work ethic and focus understanding that football is a team effort and that success requires everyone performing at their best. As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on Amari Green. The young athlete working tirelessly to elevate his game and lead his team to success. His combination of talent, dedication, and strong team relationships sets the stage for a memorable freshman campaign and a promising football career ahead.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amari Green.

How do you balance training with academics and personal life?
I take time out of my mornings to workout before school, then I train after school. Afterwards, I go home and make sure I get my homework done every night.

Are you attending any camps or combines to gain exposure?
I’ve been to many college camps in the past few summers, including this summer. They have been great experiences for me.

Who do you train with during the off-season? Do you have a mentor or trainer?
I train with my father Anthony Green. He’s my mentor and trainer.

How are you staying in shape during the off-season?
I do a lot of conditioning at practice and during training, I’m making sure I stay in shape for the season.

What specific goals have you set for yourself before next season?
I want to help lead my team to a state championship

Are you working on any particular skills or techniques right now?
I’m working on my release, trying to get off the ball faster and better, also working on speed trying to increase my 40 time, I currently run a 4.9.

What part of your game do you think improved most last season?
I’ve really improved on my route running and creating separation against top defensive backs in the state.

What lessons did you take away from last season?
One lesson I took away from last season was being able to communicate with my teammates when things aren’t going our way.

Is there a moment from last season that stands out to you?
Yes. Catching a game winning TD to advance my team to the State Championship!

What motivates you to keep pushing during the off-season?
God keeps me pushing everyday during the offseason and during the season. And most importantly, I really want to make it big one day.

How do you stay mentally sharp and focused when games aren’t being played?
I usually talk to my teammates and make sure we are all locked in as a unit.

What kind of diet or nutrition plan are you following now?
Just making sure that I stay hydrated. I’m eating fruits and veggies and constantly drinking water.

Have you taken on a leadership role with your team during the break?
Yes, I have been assigned as a team captain making sure my team is doing what they supposed to do so we can get better each and every day.

Are you watching or studying any pro or college players for inspiration?
Yes, I study my favorite play Travis Hunter. I study him because I play both sides of the ball and so does he. He really motivates me to have that killer instinct.

What’s your favorite part about football that keeps you coming back?
I love football. I started making a name for myself in the 5th grade. And I have gotten better and better every since then.

How do you deal with pressure and expectations from coaches or peers?
I listen to my coaches because they are right even though I might see something. I always listen to my coach, and I have a very strong relationship with our starting quarterback. He helps me daily, making sure I’m doing the right stuff on and off the field.

Yes, Taylor Brand, Juice Woodberry, Mark Law, Kayden Betha, and Me (Amari Green)

What college or post-high school football goals do you have?
I’m a rising 9th grader and I want to accomplish 1,000 yards by the end of the season.

I am most excited about playing another season of football with my brothers, and having a breakout season.
