North Clayton High School’s Freshman QB Desergio Clark Jr. Eyes High School Stardom After Dominant Middle School Run

College Park, Georgia – North Clayton Middle School’s football dynasty found its heartbeat in quarterback Desergio “Serg” Clark Jr., a gifted young leader who has already etched his name into the county’s sports history. With two county championships and a coveted state title under his belt, Clark has proven that he’s not just a talented player, he’s a born winner. Now, the decorated signal-caller is stepping into a new chapter as he prepares for his freshman season at North Clayton High School. Standing tall in the pocket with poise beyond his years, Clark has displayed elite vision, a rocket arm, and the ability to make plays under pressure. At North Clayton High, Clark will begin his high school career backing up Junior quarterback Justin Murphy, a proven athlete with varsity experience. But Clark isn’t discouraged, he’s actually hungry. With a championship pedigree and a fire that’s just starting to burn, Desergio Clark Jr. may not be under center just yet, but his time is coming. And when it does, North Clayton fans may be witnessing the rise of the next great quarterback in Georgia high school football.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Desergio “Serg” Clark Jr

How do you balance training with academics and personal life?
I just take it one day at a time. I have football practice in the morning on weekdays, and I train on weekends. I’m enjoying my friends even though my schedule is busy, I know it will be worth it when it’s all said and done.

Are you attending any camps or combines to gain exposure?
I attend camps with North Clayton High school. I also went to Ryzer Camp Combine.

Who do you train with during the off-season? Do you have a mentor or trainer?
I train with Coach K10, and quarterback Justin Murphy mentors me.

How are you staying in shape during the off-season?
I stay in shape by doing 100 push ups a night!

What specific goals have you set for yourself before next season?
My goal is to just do my best, learn the game, and to stay ready. You never know when it’s your time. I just want to be ready.

What part of your game do you think improved most last season?
I feel I mostly improved on being able to identify the defense more, reading player moves, and putting the ball where it needs to be so my receivers can make a play

What lessons did you take away from last season?
In middle school I was the man. When you get to high school, it starts all over. I have to start from the bottom, and work my way up. I just have to adjust and work harder.

What motivates you to keep pushing during the off-season?
I want to be great. There is no end game. You have to work and keep working to ge there.

Is there a moment from last season that stands out to you?
Yes, The moment we won the county championship game. It was my second championship, and it was the most special.

How do you stay mentally sharp and focused when games aren’t being played?
I stay mentally sharp by just relaxing and enjoying life. However, I always find time to get with my trainer to keep my skills sharp so I don’t get too relax.

What kind of diet or nutrition plan are you following now?
I eat a lot of protein, fruit, and I drink water daily.

Have you taken on a leadership role with your team during the break?
Yes, We (my teammates) have a group chat where we stay in touch. We always looking at football videos, and TikTok of football routes.

Are you watching or studying any pro or college players for inspiration?
Patrick Mahomes had been my idol since I was 8 years old. The number 15 is very special to me.

What’s your favorite part about football that keeps you coming back?
I love to compete! When it comes to football, just throwing a ball is my passion.

How do you deal with pressure and expectations from coaches or peers?
I take all things into consideration, and use it to make me better. There is a lot of pressure from football coaches, but if you get out there and do your best, what else can they ask for?

Are there any teammates you think will have a breakout season next year?
Yes, RBs Drevon and Elijah, along with starting QB Justin Murphy will have breakout seasons.

What college or post-high school football goals do you have?
I’m hoping to attend or get an offer from Alabama or The University of Miami.

What are you most excited about for the upcoming season?
I’m excited about being able to play at the high school level. This is a blessing.

Are there any other accomplishments or accolades you would like us to know?
Just know that I’m a football player and a basketball player. Keep your eyes out for both.
